Important Announcements

·         You MUST register for this course in MyMathLab by the end of the second week of classes. You may register and purchase an access code at www.coursecompass.com using course ID becerra90702. The UHD zip code is77002.

      Then you should register for the new and free UHD MyMathLab Math Portal. This website has been set up to aid you in the use of the many technology resources available for your math course and textbook.

·         If you attend one of the three Algebra Review Sessions to be held in the Math Lab (N925) on Wednesday (8-26) from 1-2:15 pm, Thursday (8-27) from 3:30-4:45 pm or Saturday (8-29) from 12-1:15 pm, then you will have 10 points added to your score on the Algebra Review assignment in MML.

·         Daily Journal – Here you will find a brief summary of each class meeting, suggested homework assignments and other course information.

·         Math Lab Hours – Free tutoring is available on a walk-in basis in the Math Lab (N925).

·         Academic Computing Lab Hours – You can access MyMathLab in any of the UHD academic labs (S800, C300, B200).

·         FREE GraphCalc Graphing Calculator for Windows  –  Click the "Regular Users" GraphCalc.exe link, then click "Run" (you may have to click "Run" twice) to install.

·         Wolfram Alpha–  This is a free internet based computational knowledge engine; there is nothing to download. It offers many features found on graphing calculators and computer algebra systems.

·          Dr. Ongard's College Algebra web page  – Here you will find easy-to-use applets to graph a function, tabulate a function, and fit a model (linear, quadratic, cubic, logistic) to a data set.
